Understanding Boost thresholds

Updated: Dec 28, 2021

To understand Boost thresholds, it's important to understand first that each parcel of land is not equal. Below is a snippet of the released boost explanation from the Atlas Earth creators. At first glance it looks like a player can own 249 parcels outright and still have the 30X boost. In this article I'll be breaking down why this isn't the case.

The Boost threshold is actually based of the weighted plot count rather than the total plot count. What that means is that depending on the rarity of the plot dictates how much each plot counts towards the threshold.

COMMON - 1 PARCEL

RARE - 1.45 PARCELS

EPIC - 2 PARCELS

LEGENDARY - 4 PARCELS

So as can be seen, the weight per parcel owned can vary drastically. Infact if a player somehow got lucky and owned 63 Parcels and each one was Legendary that would put their weighted parcel count to 252 and thus with just 63 owned plots of land, they would drop down to the 20X Boost. This is why it's important to keep track of how many of each rarity you currently own. At that the time of publishing this article there is no built-in feature showing you how many of each parcel you own and so below I'll have a link to download an excel file I created to keep track of not only how many of each rarity owned, but also the weighted count so that its easier to see when a player is getting near to passing a threshold.
